Title: Working at US Food and Drug Administration – from an Asian American’s point of view

Brief abstract:

You may have heard of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and wonder “what does FDA do and who are the people working at FDA?” This talk will offer answers to these questions. In addition, the speaker, who grew up in Asian and worked in the US for over twenty years, will share her challenges and learnings in the US as an Asian American.

Title: The Moon Spaceship

Brief abstract:

50 years after Apollo landed men on the Moon, we will soon return humans to the Moon to live and work on a spaceship called *Gateway*. In the next decade, we will launch the biggest rocket ever built, construct the *Gateway*, land the first woman on the moon’s surface, and transition Earth’s *International Space Station* activities to new Earth stations. We will see new industries and an expanded market for research. During this lecture, we’ll discuss the challenges and lessons from the past decade and consider approaches for success in the 2020s and 2030s.

Title: Translating Congress: Function, Lifestyle, and Policy

Brief abstract:

Congress plays an essential role in directing U.S. government policy—so how does Congress actually work? This presentation will explain the role of Congress, its relevance to American citizens and the international community, and the lifestyle of congressional staffers who make the system work. This presentation will also provide a brief look into U.S. policy direction over the next two years following the 2022 midterm election.
