Global Joint Education Center for Science and Technology (GJEC) will offer the following lecture in English.

 

【Title】Research Ethics

※For students who enrolled in or after 2018, this lecture will be held as one of the

【Abstract】

Students will gain experience in technical writing, including learning ways to avoid plagiarism, as well as guidelines for establishing ethical and equitable collaborations on research projects and publications, mentoring students and volunteer participants, obtaining proper permission for use of intellectual property and photo and video documentation, following guidelines for research involving live subjects, and respecting standards for data acquisition, management and deposition. The course also addresses peer-review responsibilities, as well as conflict of interest and commitment, appropriate professional behavior at work and in the public eye, and whistle-blowing. In addition to being a crash-course demonstrating the scientific community’s efforts to prevent ethical violations, students will work together to analyze case studies related to research ethics.

Day 1: Ethics of designing experiments (Design it as though you are the subject!)

Day 2: Ethics of conducting experiments (Set the bar high!);

Day 3: Ethics of reporting the findings (Hide nothing!).
