It also deals with international relations such as correspondence with overseas universities. Inquiries about admissions from abroad should be directed to this office.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:ask-gsst@kumamoto-u.ac.jp\">ask-gsst@kumamoto-u.ac.jp<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>GSST International Plaza<\/h3>\n<p>The Plaza is used as a space for international students and Japanese students to get together and to host events to promote international exchange. Currently we organize events such as Lunchtime English and Seminar Before Weekend. We encourage students to take initiatives in planning and conducting events.<\/p>\n<h3>Center for International Education<\/h3>\n<p>The Center for International Education aims to help promote the University\u2019s global education, support international students with their studies and in their everyday life, and promote globalization in the local community.<\/p>\n<p>The Center offers Multidisciplinary Studies (the liberal arts education subjects delivered in English). In its Division for Multidisciplinary Global Education, the Center offers early global education opportunities to local high school students and other students and, in its Division for Multilingual and Cultural Education, tackles various problems surrounding the globalization of the university, with faculties in charge of foreign language education firmly united.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.c3.kumamoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.c3.kumamoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Housing<\/h3>\n<h4>Kumamoto University International House<\/h4>\n<p>This accommodation has 147 single rooms, 6 couple-type rooms, 7 family-type rooms and 72 shared rooms for students and scholars from abroad. Students and scholars can stay here at least 1 year. Average rents range from \uffe525,000 to \uffe560,000.<\/p>\n<h3>Scholarships<\/h3>\n<h4>Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho, MEXT) Scholarship<\/h4>\n<p>Applicants must be under 35 years of age. The scholarship provides a round trip ticket to Japan and monthly stipend of \uffe5144,000 for a Master\u2019s student, \uffe5145,000 for a Doctoral student.<br \/>\n    Enrollment fee and tuitions are exempted.<\/p>\n<h5>Application to the Scholarship<\/h5>\n<dl>\n<dt>1.\tRecommendation by the Japanese Embassy<\/dt>\n<dd>Applications are submitted to the Japanese Embassy in the applicant&#8217;s home country. Examinations are conducted at the Japanese Embassy.<\/dd>\n<dt>2.\tRecommendation by Kumamoto University (University Recommendation)<\/dt>\n<dd>Applications are submitted to GSST for preliminary selection. Selected candidates are recommended to Monbukagakusho for further review and selection.<\/dd>\n<dt>3.\tRecommendation by Kumamoto University (Special Allocation)<\/dt>\n<dd>The research fields open for application depend on the year.<br \/>Applications are submitted to GSST for selection.
