CALL FOR PAPERS

The 7th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology
ICAST 2012 Seoul, South Korea
October 29-30, 2012

 The Global Joint Education Center for Science and Technology (GJEC) of Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST), Kumamoto University, Japan is pleased to announce the 7th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology (ICAST) to be held at the University of Seoul from October 29 to 30, 2012. ICAST has been serving to promote international exchange among graduate students and young researchers including post-doctoral fellows in various fields of the advanced science and technology, since the first conference was held in Kumamoto in 2008. Active participation of students not only in presentation but also in management of the conference is vital to ICAST. This year ICAST will be co-sponsored with the University of Seoul, and in addition to the research presentations there will be some sessions in which undergraduate students can also participate.

Research Sessions

 Students (mainly graduate students and young researchers) will present their research work either in oral or poster session of the following fields

  1. Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
  2. Materials Science
  3. Computer, Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  4. Civil Engineering
  5. Urban Sciences
  6. Energy and Environmental Engineering
  7. Biology and Life Science
  8. Industrial Applications
  9. Mathematics and Applied Mathematics
  10. Geology
  11. Physics and Applied Physics

Undergraduate Sessions

 Undergraduate students will have opportunities to make presentations on current social issues and problems we have in common and exchange ideas and opinions. Topics are energy, environment, and natural disaster.

Deadline of registration: August 27 (Mon), 2012

Deadline for submission of manuscripts: September 14 (Fri), 2012

Speakers for Research Sessions should submit manuscripts.
Speakers for Undergraduate Sessions should submit abstracts.

  • Manuscript template (research session)
    • Prepare two-page manuscript following instructions in the template.
    • Figures should be prepared in black and white. Use colors only when absolutely necessary.
    • Submit both PDF (in press quality, not smallest size) and WORD files.
  • Abstract template (undergraduate session)
    • Prepare one-page abstract according to the template.
    • Submit both PDF (in press quality, not smallest size) and WORD files.
