How to access from downtown to South Campus, Kumamoto University

If you take a bus from downtown to the Kumamoto Universty,

  1. Check the bus number and find the bus with the number 子1, 子7, 子8, 子10 ,子17 and 子18, and only the buses with these number take you to South Campus, Kumamoto University.
  2. Get on the bus from the rear door and take a number ticket. Your destination is “Kumamoto Daigaku Mae (熊本大学前)”.
  3. When you hear the announcement “Kumamoto Daigaku Mae”, inform the driver by pushing the “get off button” and check your bus fare. Your fare is displayed on the fare indicator above the driver. You must pay the exact fare.
  4. Drop your bus fare with number ticket into the fare box just next to the bus driver and get off the bus from the front door.

If you take a bus from Kumamoto University to downtown, you can take all buses.

From Fukuoka Airport to Kumamoto

If you arrive at Fukuoka Airport, there are 2 ways to access to Kumamoto.

  1. Take a express way bus to Kumamoto and get off at Torichosuji or Kotsu Center (Bus terminal/Final destination). It takes about 1hour and 45 minutes.

From Kumamoto Airport to Downtown

If you arrive at Kumamoto Airport, take a limousine bus to downtown and get off at Torichosuji or Kotsu Center (Bus terminal/ Final destination). It takes about 40 minutes.
