The 11th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology
ICAST 2016 Kumamoto, Japan
December 8 - 9, 2016

 We are pleased to announce that the Global Joint Education Center for Science and Technology (GJEC) of Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST), Kumamoto University, Japan will organize the 11th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology (ICAST) to be held at Kumamoto University on December 8 - 9, 2016. ICAST has been serving to promote international exchange among graduate students and young researchers in various fields of the advanced science and technology, since we had the first conference in Kumamoto in 2008. The past ICAST held in abroad took place in Peking University (China), Ewha Womans University (Korea), Ege University (Turkey), Shandong University (China), University of Seoul (Korea), Blaise Pascal University (France) and Institut Tecknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) (Indonesia). Active participation of students not only in presentation but also in management of the conference is vital to ICAST. This year the program includes Research Session and General Session. Participation of undergraduate students is encouraged as well.

Qualification of presenters

 Graduate students and undergraduate students of Kumamoto University and the overseas universities which have the exchange agreements with Kumamoto University.

Research Session

Students will give presentation on their research data either in oral or poster session of the following fields.

  3. Chemistry
  4. Earth and Environments
  5. Biological Sciences
  6. Applied Chemistry and Biochemistry
  7. Materials Science and Engineering
  8. Mechanical System Engineering
  9. Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
  10. Civil and Environmental Engineering
  11. Architecture
  12. Multidisciplinary

General Session

 Students will present their opinions and ideas on issues related to energy, environment, natural disasters, and challenges of the society in science and technology.

-Students of Kumamoto University: August 31 (Wed), 2016
-Students from partner universities: September 20 (Tue), 2016
-Students from High School in Kumamoto: October 17 (Mon), 2016
