CALL FOR PAPERS

The 20th ICAST 2025 Chiayi
November 26-27, 2025

We are pleased to announce that the 20th ICAST 2025 Chiayi will be held at National Chiayi University (NCYU) on November 26-27, 2025.

Global Joint Education Center for Science and Technology (GJEC) of Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST), Kumamoto University, has been organizing ICAST annually since 2008 to promote international exchanges among students and to development cooperation in research and education with overseas partner universities. As ICAST is organized and managed mostly by students, it gives a great opportunity for them to foster their leadership and communication skills in the international setting as well as to gain better understanding of their research.

Owing to kind cooperation from overseas partner universities ICAST took place in Peking University (China), Ewha Womans University (Korea), Ege University (Turkey), Shandong University (China), University of Seoul (Korea), University of Clermont Auvergne (France), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) (Indonesia), National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (Taiwan), and De La Salle University (Philippine), Hasanuddin University (Indonesia), and National Taiwan Normal University (Taiwan) in addition to Kumamoto University.

Active participation of students not only in presentation but also in management of the conference is vital to ICAST. Please see the following information for registration. We hope that many students are interested and eager to participate in this event.

Who can participate
  1. Graduate and undergraduate students of Kumamoto University and NCYU
  2. Graduate and undergraduate students from the overseas partner universities (by invitation)
  3. High school students from Kumamoto Prefecture (by invitation) and NCYU collaborated regional high schools
  4. Students from National Institute of Technology (KOSEN) (by invitation)

Research Session:

Graduate and undergraduate students will give a presentation on their research data in the following fields. Oral sessions only.

General Session:
Undergraduate students and high school students will give a presentation on their projects related to topics on SDGs in the fields of science and engineering. Oral presentations only.

*In case the number of presentations will exceed the capacity, we may not be able to accept all registrations. In such cases we will accept registrations on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you don’t give a presentation: November 7, 2025
*NCYU students can register on-site.

Once your presentation is accepted, you are requested to submit an extended abstract. Please note that different templates are used for Research Session and General Session.
