CALL FOR PAPERS

The 15th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology
ICAST 2020 Kumamoto, Japan
December 3 – 4, 2020

We are pleased to announce that the Global Joint Education Center for Science and Technology (GJEC) of Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST), Kumamoto University, Japan, will organize the 15th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology (ICAST) to be hosted by Kumamoto University on December 3 - 4, 2020.

ICAST has been serving to promote international exchange among graduate students and young researchers in various fields of advanced science and technology since the first conference in Kumamoto in 2008. The past ICAST took place in Peking University (China), Ewha Womans University (Korea), Ege University (Turkey), Shandong University (China), University of Seoul (Korea), Blaise Pascal University (France), Institut Tecknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) (Indonesia), National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (Taiwan), and De La Salle University (Philippine) in addition to Kumamoto University. Active participation of students not only in presentation but also in management of the conference is vital to ICAST. This year the program includes Research Session and General Session. Participation of undergraduate students is encouraged as well.

This year the conference will be carried out online due to the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. All presenters and participants will use “Zoom” as an online meeting tool. There will be all live oral presentations, and no poster presentations.

Who can participate
  1. Graduate and undergraduate students of Kumamoto University.
  2. Invited graduate students from the overseas partner universities.
  3. Invited high school students in Kumamoto Prefecture.

All presentations are conducted by using Zoom.

Research Session:

Students will give presentation on their research data in the following fields. Oral sessions only.

  14. Multidisciplinary
General Session:

Students, mainly undergraduate students, will present their research, opinions, and ideas on issues related to energy, environment, natural disasters, and other issues in society related to science and technology. Oral sessions only.

  • If you give a presentation: Sept. 7 (Mon), 2020
    NOTE
    In case the number of presentations would exceed the capacity, we may not be able to accept all registrations. In such cases we will accept registrations on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • If you don’t give a presentation: Nov. 24 (Tue), 2020

Submission of extended abstract

Once your presentation is accepted, you are requested to submit an extended abstract. Please note that different templates are used for Research Session and General Session.
