【Abstract】
It is said that crude oil, which can be mined at a relatively low cost, can be mined for less than 50 years, so the development of alternative energy sources and the shift of social structure are important issues. Solving these wide-ranging problems often requires extensive cross-sectional knowledge of physics, chemical engineering, mechanics, chemistry, and biology. In this lecture, we will focus on photocatalyst as an alternative energy-related topic. The social background (first step of world energy situation, each country’s situations) necessary for its development, the basics of inorganic chemistry and material chemistry (electron orbit, band gap, etc.), principles of the equipment used for research (TEM/STEM, ICP/AAS, TG-DTA analysis for inorganic material synthesis method), development of photo catalysts as environmental catalysts, and structural evaluation are outlined.
