Admission Policy

Master’s Course

To respond to the advanced knowledge, theories, and technology of applied fields that make up the foundation supporting our modern society, the next generation of science professionals must have solid and reliable academic abilities in each field as well as basic presentation abilities, the motivation to learn new things, a strong curiosity for discovering the truth and for creating new technologies, and the capacity to challenge themselves to learn new subjects with a high sense of purpose and to endeavor to solve problems.

The Department of Science

In this department, students not only contribute to the academic succession and development of human intellectual property in the fields of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, but also scientifically explore the truth behind the core of the many issues our modern society faces, such as the phenomena of life, the global environment, and the energy problem.
To this end, we aim to equip our students with the necessary knowledge, way of thinking, and philosophy common to sciences in order to train them to be able to contribute to society internationally and widely as highly ethical scientist specialists.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those with high logical reasoning abilities and processing abilities
  • Those passionate about exploring the truth
  • Those who have a broad understanding of the foundation of natural science and who would like to acquire advanced expertise
  • Those interested in a wide variety of academics

The Department of Civil Engineering

In this department, we aim to equip students with a deeper expertise in the fields of civil engineering, architecture, and building, including environmental preservation; the planning, design, building, and management of societal infrastructure and construction; disaster prevention and mitigation; and to train students to become high-level researchers and technical experts with the ability to contribute to society through environmentally friendly and sustainable construction.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those who are highly ethical and wish to acquire the ability to solve diverse issues from their own unique points of view using their fundamental to applied knowledge in the fields of civil engineering and architecture in order to contribute to the welfare and happiness of others as highly skilled workers engaged in civil engineering and construction
  • Those with a strong interest in fundamental mathematical and mechanical studies, societal cultivations, and the creation of human environments, and who are self-driven and have a strong desire to actively and enthusiastically improve their abilities during their course of study
  • Those who possess communication skills, including English abilities, that allow them to participate in information exchanges at an international level and who are inclined to collaborate in groups while applying their own unique individualities

The Department of Mechanical and Mathematical Engineering

In this department, we aim to impart an education of manufacturing, ranging from fundamental to applied, including a knowledge of mechanical systems and the applied mathematics that form the foundation of this knowledge, in order to train high-level researchers and technical experts who are able to play active roles in society.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those who wish to acquire knowledge of production processes that use machine element technology and computer technology, as well as fundamental to applied knowledge for developing these processes into mathematical models, and who wish to use their highly ethical perspectives to actively and enthusiastically work on new issues and difficult problems
  • Those who can acquire deep expertise and rich cultural knowledge to contribute to the promotion of a happy and orderly society in the field of science and technology, especially in machinery and applied mathematics
  • Those endeavoring to become high-level technical experts and educators with international perspectives who play active roles on an international level

The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering

In this department, we aim to train problem-solving, high-level researchers and technical experts who have basic to applied knowledge in the fields of computer science and electronic engineering for responding to the diverse needs of society and who create new technologies using creative and flexible thinking.
The subjects of education and research in this department cover a wide range of areas, including information science, computer engineering, electronic communication engineering, ergonomics, and energy engineering.
Therefore, this department invites students who not only have a firm knowledge of the fundamentals in their specialties, but who can also use flexible thinking to apply engineering basics in a wide range of fields to their specialties and have a willingness to discover and solve new problems.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those who have an unrelenting curiosity for the mysterious and a logical and inquiring mind
  • Those who are interested in many academic areas and wish to gain a deep understanding of fundamentals and applications
  • Those with an advanced sense of public duty for using engineering to contribute to the welfare of mankind
  • Those hoping to make contributions at manufacturing sites in the field of computer science and electronic engineering by using science, technology, and intellectual property
  • Those who intend to become engineers and researchers who are richly creative and have an international perspective

The Department of Materials Science and Applied Chemistry

In this department, we aim to train researchers and engineers who use state-of-the-art technology by equipping them with advanced expertise based on material engineering, material chemistry, and biochemistry that will allow them to contribute to science and technology, the development of an industrial society, and the construction of a sustainable zero-waste society.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those who endeavor to acquire the advanced expertise and skills necessary to become the next generation of researchers and engineers in the field of material engineering, material chemistry, or biochemistry
  • Those who have a willingness to dedicate their creativity, motivation, and love of challenges to the creation of new substances and the development of new materials in the field of material engineering, material chemistry, or biochemistry
  • Those who endeavor to become researchers and engineers having an understanding of diversity, diverse perspectives, and the ability to play active roles in the international scene
  • Those who are highly ethically and eager to contribute to building a prosperous future society

Doctoral Course

This doctorate program seeks students who have an interest in the wide range of fields within natural science and an awareness as educated working professionals and international professionals; who have a strong, purpose-driven desire to explore deep truths and boldly face the challenge of creating new scientific technologies; and who wish to strengthen and perfect their flexible creativity and their ability to discover and solve new problems.

The Department of Science

In this department, we aim to equip students with thorough expertise and insight in the natural sciences to educate them to become highly ethical professionals with broad perspectives who can independently advance their research internationally.
After completing this doctorate program, our goal is for students to become science professionals able to create their own research agendas as independent researchers and to apply their scientific expertise as practitioners pioneering cutting-edge research or as educators, government workers, or highly specialized company employees.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those who are passionate about natural science and strive to excel in academic pursuits
  • Those with a strong willingness to pursue the development of advanced science and its applications
  • Those who endeavor to become leaders not only in Japan, but also in the international community

The Department of Advanced Industrial Science

In this department, we aim to train the next generation of leaders with advanced expertise and research capabilities who will play leading roles in contributing both to local societies and to the international community through developing new scientific technologies and reorganizing and creating functional linkages in conventional technologies, while providing comprehensive education and research that can adapt to the diversifying changes in our social environment in order to build a vibrant and humane society to advance the happiness of mankind.

From this perspective, our department seeks the following individuals:

  • Those who are eager to further learn and research in their respective educational program relating to civil engineering, applied machine mathematics and physics, information electrical engineering, or materials and applied chemistry, and who have the fundamental academic ability required in each field to respond to the developments in comprehensive advanced technology, from engineering basics to technology applications
  • Those who endeavor to use their expertise to contribute to the prosperity of mankind and become leaders not only in Japan, but also in the international community
  • Those with the courage and strong desire to lead the future generation and develop the next generation of advanced science and technology through their own individual and proactive means with a firm sense of duty
  • Those who are eager to apply their solid expertise in each academic field to independently address the diverse problems facing local societies and the international community while using their extensive knowledge and communication skills to build collaborations with other fields
