Education Goals

Computer science professionals who can contribute widely to the world of industry as driving forces for creating and advancing the foundations of local regions and the international community from a global perspective are in demand.
The fundamental technologies that support the computerization and electronicization of society are technologies relating to computer science and electronic engineering, and the training of highly specialized technicians and researchers who will be responsible for the development of these technologies is indispensable.
This department will train students to become highly specialized technicians and researchers with creative and flexible reasoning, like the following.

  1. Those who can make full use of their advanced and specialized abilities to flexibly and quickly adapt to a diverse and dynamically changing society from a wide range of perspectives
  2. Those who are equipped with creative abilities that allow them to solve problems by independently creating new technologies
  3. Those who are motivated to become leaders in our society of advanced information and who feel that it is their mission to contribute to local regions and to the international community.
Education Objectives
  1. Through our six-year program of consistent education linked to an undergraduate education, we will teach students advanced expertise in the field of computer science and electronic engineering.
  2. Through internships and project seminars, students will develop flexibility, practical skills, planning abilities, and an entrepreneurial spirit through which they can adapt to diverse fields.
  3. Through giving presentations at academic conferences both in Japan and abroad, students will develop communication and presentation skills.
  4. Through preparing their master’s thesis, students will develop logical reasoning abilities, problem discovery and solving abilities, expressive abilities, and a passion for self-driven discovery.
What We Offer

We offer an education through which students who have received an undergraduate education in the fundamentals of general engineering and in a specialized field relating to electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or computer science will study state-of-the-art, specialized subjects in each area and set their own topics of research in order to train to become high-level technical experts and researchers who have cultivated knowledge and a wide range of practical skills, who can contribute to local regions and to the international community thanks to an education in which they acquired the ability to model problems and develop research methods based on said models in order to solve problems.
We have established Internship I, Science Special Lecture I, Project Seminar I, and Special Presentation I as specialized common subjects in addition to establishing three educational programs. Through actual experience working at companies in Internship I, students will acquire the engineering qualities required by society. Advanced Science Special Lecture I, consisting of lectures, and Project Seminar I, consisting of courses in seminar format, will deepen students’ expertise in their field of specialty in each educational program, and Special Presentation I will encourage students to give presentations at international conferences.

The industrial world of computer science is changing rapidly every day, and start-ups and other organizations require diverse practitioners to help them navigate this world. In response to this environment, this department will train students to become professionals with fundamental to applied knowledge in the three fields of electrical engineering, electronic engineering, and computer science.

Electrical Engineering

Education Goals

By receiving training in the field of electrical engineering, especially in specialized subjects relating to energy and devices, students can become professionals who act as world-class leaders with a global standpoint to solve the many issues relating to electrical energy.

Education Objectives

The Education Program of Electrical Engineering teaches subjects related to electronics, energy, and devices using expert-level, cutting-edge methods. It also instills the knowledge needed to become an expert by using each research topic as an opportunity to model problems and gain a wide range of applied skills in order to solve these problems. In this way, it aims to train students to become high-level technical experts and researchers who can contribute to local regions and to the international community.

What We Offer

We will provide students who have received an undergraduate education in the fundamentals of general engineering and in the specialized field of electrical engineering with an education through a group of specialized courses relating to the most advanced and up-to-date electrical engineering in the field of energy and in the field of environment and devices. We have built a curriculum in which students can take courses related to electrical engineering in the fields of computers or electronics and information from parts of other education programs (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) so that students not only deepen their expertise in their own specialization but also broaden their knowledge in order to acquire a wide range of practical skills. Furthermore, this education program also trains students to become practitioners in the field of pulsed power science.

Electronic Engineering

Education Goals

Technologies in the field of electronic engineering, such as measurements, signal processing, and control, are the backbone of manufacturing. There is an urgent need to train technicians who will not only further these fundamental technologies but also proactively take in information, such as networking, miniaturization, and power conservation, and technologies in the electric field and take responsibility for manufacturing new things. The Education Program of Electronic Engineering will train students to become professionals with advanced expertise and innovation to meet the demands of society.

Education Objectives

The Education Program of Electronic Engineering aims to train students to become high-level technical experts and researchers who have cultivated knowledge and a wide range of practical skills through an education of state-of-the-art, specialized subjects relating to electronic information systems and who can contribute to the local regions and to the international community thanks to an education in which they set their own topics of research and acquired the ability to model problems and develop research methods based on said models in order to solve problems.

What We Offer

Students who have covered both the introductory courses on general engineering and more specific courses on electronic engineering can take classes from an upper division series of courses that teach subjects relating to cutting-edge electronic engineering. The curriculum is structured such that students can take courses in the field of computers and in the field of environment and devices to gain further specialization and to develop applied knowledge in the field they studied during their undergraduate education, mainly, the fields of environmental information processing and energy control.

Computer Science

Computer science not only provides the technologies that support our lives in an ever-evolving society, but also has unchanging properties allowing it to be applied in a wide array of fields. We provide students with the education to meet these varying demands, specializing in the areas of software, hardware, applied computing, electricity, electronics, and communications, which will equip them with a deep understanding of the fundamentals as well as high-level expertise and the ability to apply this expertise.

The Education Program of Computer Science teaches subjects related to information and communication using expert-level, cutting-edge methods. It also instills the knowledge needed to become an expert by using each research topic as an opportunity to model problems and gain a wide range of applied skills in order to solve them. In this way, it aims to train students to become high-level technical experts and researchers who can contribute to local regions and to the international community.

What We Offer

Students who have covered both the introductory courses on general engineering and more specific courses on computer science can take classes from an upper division series of courses that teach cutting-edge information-related subjects. We have designed the curriculum such that courses covering the main areas of software, hardware, and applied computing can be taken in the computer science program, and a portion of applied computing courses and electricity, electronics, and communications can be taken in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering through the Education Programs of Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering, with the credits being applied to this program.
