We will develop professionals who have advanced expertise in construction relating to social infrastructure development and who will work practically to create human-friendly architecture and urban spaces and to solve energy problems and problems of disaster prevention and mitigation.
In recent years, our aging society has required not only professionals with advanced expertise in construction relating to social infrastructure development, but also those with the ability to work practically to create human-friendly architecture and urban spaces and solve energy problems and problems of disaster prevention and mitigation.
In response to these societal needs, this department will train students to gain the advanced expertise required for technicians of civil engineering and construction to address the aforementioned issues. This department will also help students develop the practical ability to create new spaces and the abilities required as professionals, such as civil servants, whose practices relate to political policy, namely, the ability to solve the many problems facing our communities and the ability to enact community development and public policy.
The Department of Civil Engineering has a unique curriculum for training students to become professionals, like those listed below who contribute to comfort and safety in the lives of others, and to coexist with the natural environment, from the planning and designing of architectural spaces to the creation of regional or urban social systems and social infrastructure for protecting the life and property of citizens.
