Research highlight

Silk fibroin (SF) is an attractive natural protein produced by the silkworm (Bombyx mori) for biomedical application because of its permeability to oxygen and water, controlled biodegradability, good cell adhesion, low inflammatory response, and high tensile strength. In our laboratory, we are trying to develop medical devices made of silk fibroin, e.g., drug reservoir, coronary stent, scaffold for regenerative medicine.
